1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the WeMile mobile application and related services (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.WeMile is a platform designed to help individuals track mileage and coordinate carpools within trusted groups.
2. Description of the Service
WeMile provides a mobile platform that allows users to:Automatically track trips using device sensorsClassify trips as business or personal (Mileage Mode)Coordinate and log shared rides (Carpool Mode)Record trip details such as distance, time, and participantsGenerate mileage logs for tax reporting or reimbursementWeMile may use location data, motion activity, and background processing to detect trips and generate summaries.WeMile is not a transportation provider, taxi service, or ride-hailing platform.All transportation arrangements occur directly between users.
3. Platform Role
WeMile acts solely as a technology platform.WeMile:Does not provide drivers or vehiclesDoes not arrange or guarantee ridesDoes not verify licenses, insurance, or identityDoes not conduct background checksUsers are responsible for determining who they trust.
4. Mileage Tracking Disclaimer (Important)
WeMile provides tools to assist with mileage tracking and reporting, but:Trip detection may not always be accurateDistance and classification are estimatesUsers are responsible for reviewing and correcting recordsWeMile does not guarantee IRS compliance, and users are responsible for ensuring their records meet applicable tax requirements.
5. Non-Commercial Use
WeMile is intended for personal, social, and business record-keeping use, not for operating transportation services.Users agree not to:Operate a taxi or ride-hailing serviceOffer rides for profitUse the platform for commercial transportation activity
Cost Sharing
Drivers may receive reimbursement only for reasonable vehicle operating costs, such as:FuelMaintenanceDepreciationThese may be estimated using standards such as the IRS mileage rate.Drivers must not generate profit through use of the platform.
6. Insurance and Legal Responsibility
Drivers are solely responsible for:Holding a valid driver’s licenseMaintaining a legally registered vehicleCarrying appropriate insuranceEnsuring their policy permits cost-sharing arrangementsWeMile does not provide insurance.
7. Trip Detection and Data
WeMile may automatically detect trips using:GPS/location dataMotion sensorsBackground activityTrip records may include:Start and end timeStart and end locationDistance traveledTrip type (Business, Personal, Carpool)Participants (for carpool)These records are for convenience only and may not be exact.
8. Carpool Participation
In Carpool Mode:Users may identify drivers and ridersParticipation may be suggested automatically and edited by usersUsers are responsible for confirming accuracyWeMile does not verify participation or enforce fairness.
9. Payments and Financial Transactions
WeMile does not process payments.Any reimbursement or cost sharing:Happens outside the platformIs solely between usersWeMile is not responsible for:Payment disputesFinancial lossesAgreements between users
10. Data and Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion at any time.Upon deletion:Personally identifiable information (PII) will be deleted or anonymizedAssociated trip records may be removed or de-identifiedWeMile may retain aggregated, non-identifiable data for analytics and reporting.
11. User Conduct
Users agree not to:Use the platform for illegal or unsafe activitiesHarass or harm othersMisrepresent trip data intentionallyAttempt to manipulate reports or metricsInterfere with the Service
12. Assumption of Risk
By using WeMile, you acknowledge that:You interact with other individuals at your own discretionYou assume all risks related to rides, carpools, and interactionsWeMile is not responsible for user behavior.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WeMile and its operators are not liable for:Accidents, injuries, or damages during ridesErrors in mileage tracking or reportingTax or reimbursement issuesDisputes between usersIndirect or consequential damagesThe Service is provided “as is”.
14. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that:Violate these TermsUse the platform for commercial transportationEngage in fraud, abuse, or harmful activity
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time.Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.
17. Privacy
